Welcome to SHIFT Foundation

Welcome to the Sacred Heart Institute for Transformative Education (SHIFT) Foundation website. SHIFT Foundation is a non-profit organization working towards empowering individuals and communities as partners in the transformation and development of civil society, especially in the Province of Northern Samar, Philippines. We work with local, national and international organizations in pursuing relevant development agenda and establish collaborative systems and structures to support these initiatives.

The foundation is committed to a 10-point Development Agenda, which includes: (1) Promotion of environmental sustainability and productive use of natural resources, (2) Mainstreaming and scaling-up of poverty alleviation initiatives, (3) Formation and capacity-building especially for women and youth, (4) Advocacy of social equity through agrarian reform, (5) Enhancement of the health and social well-being of rural communities, (6) Pursuit of the development agenda for women and children, (7) Advancement of good local governance for political reforms, (8) Development of formal and alternative learning systems as integral to national development, (9) Support for the formation and training of Church personnel, and (10) Spread of the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus based on Religious of the Sacred Heart (RSCJ) Spirituality that is focused on the integration of faith and life.
